Abstract

This paper highlighted the strategies for teaching chemistry education to senior secondary school students during the pandemic period. The paper accounted for the wide spread of corona virus disease (COVID-19) which was declared pandemic in March 12th, 2020. The pandemic made every sector to stand still including education, hence all schools were lockdown and movements were restricted. Traces in the world of the pandemic were made and some preventive measures highlighted. Indicating the importance of chemistry at this pandemic period, some strategies for delivering chemistry education to senior secondary schools were suggested to include: enabling policy, provision of resources, adequate curriculum delivery, and scientific attitude of the teachers. For the fact that the spread of the disease should be controlled by minimizing the movement of the people, this paper adopted the use of social media foe teaching. Some of the social media and the originators were listed. Some recommendations were made
