Abstract

The study assessed the availability and adequacy of physical resources for quality assurance in Colleges of Education in Anambra State in relation to the standards stipulated by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE 2012). The study adopted the observational technique research design and was guided by one research question. The population of the study comprised two schools of education and two school of vocational and technical education from the two colleges of education owned by Government  in Anambra State. They are Federal College of Education (Technical) Umunze and Nwafor Orizu College Education of Education Nsugbe. The entire population of the two schools was assessed in terms of physical resources). The data for the study was collected through direct observation using the NCCE 2012 benchmarks and was analyzed using ratio and percentage scores. The study found that physical resources were not adequate in both colleges, it was decided that the available physical resources were not adequate. Based on the findings in this study, the researcher strongly recommends that adequate physical resources should be provided in colleges of education as stipulated by the NCCE standards.
